What does it mean to surrender?
Husband and wife, acoustic folk, rock, and worshp duo, theSurrendering, chose the name for their band a while before their calling and journey would be fully revealed to them. During the summer of 2013, it became clear that the name the couple had picked to represent their desire to honor God with their musical abilities, would soon stand for a lifestyle of even greater sacrifice and submission to God's plan.

Joe and Rebecca Congleton, and their two children, Brode and Olivia (then 12 and 9) pulled out of the driveway of their modest Indiana home, towing a 1974 travel trailer behind their SUV. Leaving behind their "normal" jobs, their role as worship leaders at Harvest Chapel Tri-County, and their extended family and friends, theSurrendering set out on a new adventure that would be scary, beautiful, unexpected and completely amazing.
Living life as full-time 'musicianaries' to the U.S., theSurrendering perform their original music, lead worship and share their story with a wide range of audiences. From prison chapels to small churches, addiction recovery houses to youth groups, the duo has submitted to God's call to abandon aspirations of record deals and profitable tours, choosing instead to go anywhere without asking for anything.
With humility at the center of their ministry, theSurrendering strive to remain small, while always pointing heavenward to an infinitely loving Father God. However, their journey has not been without its moments and seasons of brilliance and excitement. The duo has had the honor of taking the stage prior to some of Christian music's most well-known artists, such as NeedtoBreathe, Fireflight, Meredith Andrews, 7eventh Time Down, Ashes Remain, and Rend Collective. They were also recently invited to record with Dove and GRAMMY winning producer and songwriter, Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe). The sngle they recorded with Ed, called 'Fearless Life', may be heard on Christian radio later in 2015.
